Punjab Public Service Commission is linked to a vast history, and was established on May 1st, 1937 in Punjab Province of undivided India. But after India Pakistan partition, PPSC was shifted to Shimla in February 1948 and the allied jurisdiction was shifted to east Punjab. Sometime later, Punjab and Pepsu were combined and was brought to Patiala on 1st November’1956. After the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh formed, their jurisdiction was lessened. Today, Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is the administrative authority that conducts examination for varied services and cadres required by Punjab Government.
