West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) examination is held in following successive stages:

•    Preliminary examination (Objective Type)

•    Main Examination (Conventional Type-Written)

•    Personality Test

Only those candidates are to be selected in the preliminary examination, who have cleared the Preliminary Examination are allowed to sit in the Main Examination and a number of candidates to be selected through Main (Written) Examination will be considered for the Personality Test.



The W.B.C.S. (Exe.) Examination will be treated as a combined Competitive Examination comprising four separate and distinct examinations for four groups of services and posts.



The names of the candidates chosen for Personality Test and also those who are recommended for appointment will be available provisionally subject to consideration of eligibility of the candidates in all respects and verification of original certificates etc.
