It is what the name says, Civil Service! A civil servant is supposed to faithfully and efficiently implement the policies of the government in power, keeping in mind that at no point his actions go against the provisions of the Constitution and the laws in force at that point of time. Further he must always keep public welfare in mind and should try to maximise it through his actions
