what are the topics to be covered for writng IAS preliminary.in which year can i write.

You have to give at least an year of preparation to IAS. So supposing you have completed your graduation, prepare for next year's prelims.Books have detailed many a times in this forum itself so kindly go through all the questions posted in this forum. This way many of your other questions, which you were not aware yourself, will also be addressed. All the best!
