A reflecting surface is represented  y =    .and concave suface is silvered.the equation of incident ray is

x = e .find the co - ordinates of point of incidence and equation of reflected ray and a unit vector in the direction

of reflected ray..

If point of incidence means the point at which light ray strikes the mirror, then its coordinates shud be (e, rt3e).

Now,we have to find the normal to the mirror at point (e,rt3e).

We have, y = rt3elnx

y'x=e = rt3

-1/y' = -1/rt3

Hence, the equation of normal is x + rt3y = 4e. As the slope of this line is = -1/rt3, hence Angle 1 = 150o.

Hence, 2 = 60o = 3.

Hence, 4 = 30o.

Now, equation of reflected ray can be easily calculated by 1-point slope form. We know its slope=1/rt3 and point (e,rt3e).

So the equation of reflected ray is x - rt3y = 2e.

Hope U get it.
