a charge q is uniformly distributed on a thin spherical shell. What is the field at the center of the shell? If a point charge is brought close to the shell, will the field at center change? Does answer depends on whether the shell is conducting or non-conducting?

0.............no it wil not change (0)in case of conducting..................it will be non 0 in case of non conducting

1.a charge q is uniformly distributed on a thin spherical shell.

the field at the centre is zero (in both conducting and nonconducting)

2.  If a point charge is brought close to the shell..

in case of conducting ..field still remains zero

in case of non conducting ..its non zero.

i.e. the same what karna said.

therer will be no charge inside the spherical shell but have the charge on the surface .

ofcourse its depends on the sphere whether it is conducting or not.
