I have been alloted IT-BHU B.Tech 4yr Mining Engineering and BITS Pilani Pilani Campus MSc(Hons.) Chemistry which most probably will get upgraded to MSc(Hons.) Economics BITSAT Score 294.Please guide me what should I opt for.I can go with Mining and any branch offered it BITS.Is there any health risk to opt for Mining?Will branch which i get in Pilani will fetch me better job prospects and future prospects as MBA,IAS etc.

insti-wise both are equally good. just look for branch.. it's just your decision.. but make sure you know completely about dual degree scheme at bits frm the link given in above post.

 Depends on ur interests. No risk in mining, and there is scope. But BITS Pilani is undoubtedly the best option!!!

BITS dual is best suited for u as IT BHU despite being a decent insti isnomatch for BITS pilani.Also i don't think u wud like mining as a branch and wud like to do MBA or MS for which BITS background wud be very helpful.Go for BITS .Best ofluck

And hopefully u might get economics which is rlly a happening branch in pilani because in 2nd counselling in january(for BITSAT 2008) civil guys applied for economics but did not get and many of us with BE 4 yr course take additional eco in 2nd yr.But don't get complacent after admission as u wud have to get gud grades in first yr to get a BE of u'r choice

@ vat kat, you should also keep in mind that every student gets a BE irrespective of their GPA in the first 2 sems. For mech , you need around 7-7.5 not that hard to get that in BITS, one of my seniors doing BE chemical told me that.And BITS is so great for higher studies abroad.. Their Alumini network help you get some of the best courses abroad for MS , and MBA. I think BITS also has collaboraion with INSEAD, france.

1. there is not much hazards for physically fit people in minning that sould be certified by doctor

2. as u ll be looking for post grad degree like MBA then  y going for MSc.
