Tagged with:   10 Nickels awarded!

This year's jee was all about testing of basic concept with simple questions . The real challenge was not the questions but the way they were formed. The best way to see this is the matching questions which awards the student full or nill mark only. It awards full only when all the matchings are properly matched which creats the real challenge as its a challenge to link all the possibilities.

Few questions are really esay to crack but thses questions can not be the sheer deciding factor about the level of test . All the JEEs so far tested always carried few easy questions. The two papers pattern was to ease down the pressure on the students as it is quite logical to think that the mean of two papers will be considered for all india ranking. However its also possible to think that first paper might be the screening but this is less likely as this is against the prime motto that changed the IIT JEE pattern so drastically last year .
In first paper the maths question carried few lengthy questions and Physics and chemistry questions were good.
The new entry of assertion and resoning type questions also created a big challenge
The pattern strictly prohibits no mug up is allowed for the world class engineers .
Learn things to apply and apply things to learn .
Another interesting point was the second chemistry paper which had hardly any fact based question.
But the point of framing quesion withing the NCERT syllabus was quite visible.

it was and thats where we suffered - those who had worked hard for 2 yrs. coaching and all. never read ncert books thouroughly and all those ppl who didnt prepare only for the jee are smiling now.
in fact ppl who just gave the jee w/o any prep were surprised at how easy it was and we ppl are left wid nowhere to go now. we havent even prepared for aieee and all and wid jee over we dont even feel like studying any more. i guess a tough paper is better.

absoulutely..... these setters of the exams should have at least told us about the pattern,,,,,,,,, those who concentrated on hard core analytical problems..it seems have wasted their time and money.... aneways i really wanna say that the IIT's due to this stupid paper have lost some of the best students who could have formed a great group of engineers ! in short IIT's do not deserve some really gud ones this time ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

it's kinda funny to say this - but this years iit paper was both easy and tough in completely different aspects.
those who had studied in corporate colleges(narayana , sri chaitanya etc...)and had only studied "iit coaching" might have found it tough, but for those with basic grasp and application might have found it easier..giving it a more level ground.
overall , the iit paper lived up to it's standard - unpredictable.

nopes... i think JEE is not the one which used to be earlier.... the relaxation in so called standard of paper has disheartened many..... i know many of my friends...... whom i know as really hardcore technically analysts of the questions..great killers of the question..... who of course did not study a crap like NCERT and kept studying coaching........ and they could not have a decent score in the JEE this time.............. so isn't this is a wastge of human brains and talent.... those who studied NCERT are happy........ and those who toiled for 2 hrs everyday are in the racks...

curse the paper-setters for theri "reason-assertion " type questions.also i HATE them for the match the columns questions .
remeber there was one question
f(x) = [x^2 - 5x + 6]/x^2 - 3x ..............somethin ,something .in that ,for one of the answers i got f(x) < 0 .all my others are correct but still this will be marked wrong 4 me just becoz i forgot to mark
f(x) < 1 with f(x) < 0. i mean.........come on ,how can the IITians be so stupid to mark a question wrong for such a silly thing. i want to abuse them badly but i cant.......................
do hell with this system.bring back the screening-mains system.it rocked ....what say guys ???

heyy those who think cannot make it up... don't feel sad... i myself think that i m not getting a computer science... so don't feel disheartened.... it is their loss.... the IIT's have lost some of the most outstanding students....... what will u do eventually with an IIT tag... if u r gud.. then evem an NIT offers u a top job....so ultimately it's the loss for IIT's........ and seriously.... i just wanna kill the paper setters.... curse u IIT................u will get all those who mugged up things through this crap JEE.......

For those giving JEE next year and beyond. Start giving equal stress on CBSE curriculum ( atleast thats wat IIT wants).

three boos to iit- fooled by a stupid old man arjun singh the standard of their quesn paper has sunk to an all time low and so will the input and so will the quality of the institution suffer. it confirms my fear that there really is no justice in this world.. imagine us slogging it out and still not gettng wat we want and ppl preparing for d boards and getting into iit-cause of that filthy ncert.

    i also agree with rebel
seriously there were more ques. from NCERT in which a person who has nmugge up can do better than a person who has d one a deep & analytical study
I am also very much upset with th epaper coz the type of ques which we prepared r only a few

here yesterday i read an article of iit (krishna murthy) that the falling of standard paper iit , the main cause is the students parents and higher officials that they argued with iit experts to make easy the paper to reduce stress on students , the student shud reach at the standard step of iit paper, not the paper shud reach the student
every time the paper shud be tough then only the world class high quality engineers can be seen for our outstanding development

Are you guys sure the paper we wrote was IIT-JEE 2007 I tht we were writing an objective version of CBSE board exam paper.
If the IITs had to do this they should have written NCERT under the syllabus for IIT instead of 3-4 pgs of crap. I have been preparing for IIT from my 8th IIT foundation coaching for IIT coaching then IIT coaching 5yrs can u blv 5yrs of my life for this exam and I get this if somebody tells me the address of the paper setters they are history.

What the hell is wrong with all of u??? Are u guys whopping the crap of iit paper setters just because the paper was more fundamental and concept based. ok ...all of u are sayin that it was more of an ncert based paper.....so what if it was...if u had a thorough understanding of all the concepts u should have still done well whether it was cbse,state...or anything other type of paper. The problem with most of the people who wrote the exam this year was that they more or less ignored the basic fundamentals of the subjects and went on to higher levels of understanding without a clear fundamental base. The introduction of the assertion reason type of questions was done to test the finer aspects of a students understanding....and what the hell is wrong with that. And if it was a cbse based paper as all of u say....shouldnt it have been easier for you guys......are u guys too brainy or intellectual that u can do technically challenging questions but u cant do simple(as u say) questions. cmon who are u trying to fool. THE IIT PAPER SETTERS HAVE STUCK TO THEIR AIM. They want only students who have thorough understanding of concepts and the 2007 paper was evidence of that. And if students think that it is below their dignity to read ncert books(which are fundamental in nature) they can forget about the iits. FIRST READ NCERT THEN GO TO HIGHER STUFF. dont jump directly..to the higher stuff...it wont do you any good.

well,if NCERT is really crap & NOT so tough, why could'nt the so-called analytical-question solvers crack it??ans-they know how to solve a problem, but not the fundas on which its based.thats what jee has tested this yr.a really good student must have the best of both-analytical skills&solid fundas
