i got 320 in bitsat...........i dont knoe what i may get but what shld i fill in pref order....................pilani mech>goa cs >goaelec. or goa cs >goa elec>pilani comp
considering the fact that
1.pilani has it own brand name
2. distance btw goa and delhi........
3. cs has lot more oppurtunity than mech.
4.goa is relatively newer
5.but i will be the 5 batch
6. decide on campus.....which is better in terms of placements and studies.
7.Branch change at pilani is very difficult
8. i wont be able to visit my home frquently.
9.degree wud be by same.........."bits rajasthan"
so what should my end list shld luk like...
avilable option
pilani cs>pilanielec>pilani electronics>....................(fill in the blank)

Well , I'll put forth a few points
1)Goa shares its brand name too.
2)Dist is a bit far , but you don't travel back every weekend.
3)True.But it depnds on interest too.
4)Yes , it certianly is.
5)The first batch has done very well , you'll be much better off.
6)Studies , almost same.Placements , Pilani is better.
7)Branch change is very difficult in both campuses.Don't go to any campus thinking you'll get a complete transfer.Duals are much easier.
8)You'd not do that even at Pilani.The campus life in both campuses is great.you'd not want to go back home often.Otherwise the whole charm of BITS will go .
BITS(and also the IITs) are COMPLETELY residential , as in both rarely allow Day Scholars.A very imp pt.
9)All campuses get BITS Pilani Degrees only.

I wud say it shud luk lyk-
pilani cs,eee,eni>goa cs,eee,eni>pilani mech>goa mech>pilani msc>goa msc....if u've no preference of branches...
N in case u want a particular branch,fill pilani,branch>goa,branch>pilani,next branch....n so on!
N now considering

1.its BITS-Pilani,Goa campus...u see the BITS-Pilani in the name!
2.Distances don't matter...u can catch a 2 hour flight n reach home faster than the 4 hour odd journey to pilani.
3.if u go by popularity,fill (pilani cs>goa cs..) A lot of people did this last yr...some for the love of CS...some for the popularity!

6.in terms of placement,Pilani obviously...but there ain't much of a difference!
As far as studies go,it depends on u...Campus won't make much of a diff
7.Yea...u need to be one of those '10 pointers'
8.u won't wanna visit home too often once u come to campus!A lot of my friends are from Delhi...some chose Goa over Pilani even!
Anyways,u can go in Diwali,odd sem break and even sem break...U won't miss Delhi much...unless ofcourse ur girlfriend lives there!

go for BITS Pilani Mechanical,dont be in a mindset that CS has more opprtunities,dont ever go with opprtunities,go with your interest,if you like mechanical then for it and if you like you like CS then BITS goa,remember Branch doesnt matter but hard work always matters.

pilani has so much greater brandname than goa that its chemcial is better that cs of goa?
